I agree with the opinion of those who
believe that car racing journalists are 'frustrated drivers.'
Particularly, I never had the talent to drive anything - even a
grass cutter! So, I quit racing before starting. I think that this
'lack of talent' made me appreciate more the people involved in car
racing. As a result, I am fan of motor racing - and of course I
have my collection. Magazines, posters, car replicas - I have been
collecting items since 2006. However, it was not until 2007 that I
have started the collection I like the most: racing cards.
In August 2007, I was honoured with a very exclusive collector kit
from one of the main teams in Formula 1. Since that date, I have
realised how possible is to start a collection - and share it with
fans all around Brazil through the Internet. In a few months, I
have collected more than 120 cards from several car racing
drivers.
Logically, someone may question a journalist collecting stuff from
teams and drivers, should this issue might influence the
journalist's opinion on them... I think there is no problem with
that. My writings are solely influenced by what drivers and teams
do on the track, and I
am happy to say that teams and drivers understand this
perfectly.
I am very proud of introducing my racing card collection to you. I
would like to thank drivers and people who have helped me to build
this archive. Enjoy it!
